Movies: The City of Hayward has its own movie theatre, and though the selection is narrow, they do run first-run pics, and the experience is fun, intimate time, in a theatre styles like a forest cabin. www.haywardcinema.com
Children’s Trout Pond; this is east of Minong on highway 77 and just past the Department of Natural Resources Ranger Station. Stocked for kids fishing.

Potter’s Shed gives youth and adults a chance to decorate pottery, create raku or draft a woods sign. And, no skill is necessary! Located in Shell Lake WI
Scheer’s Lumberjack Village is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and is a great place to spend family time. Plan your day around afternoon and evening lumberjack shows, play 18 holes of mini-golf, treat yourself to ice cream at Namekagon Cone. Located right on Hayward lake. www.scheerslumberjackvillage.com
Jack Links Pool, Fitness & Recreational Center. Voted #1 in the Family Fun category for The Best of WashCo 2020, JLAAC offers lots of activities for everyone to enjoy. There is a pool with lap lanes, a play structure, basketball & volleyball courts in the gym & even some areas to just hang out. Also offer single day passes to fitness for under $8
Travel just east of Spooner to the Spooner Agriculture Research Station & Display Garden. The garden is open during daylight hours and is home to perennial and annual display gardens, an enabling garden, themed vegetable gardens and displays of small fruits, grapes and fruit trees.

July Events: 1st weekend is Spooner Block Party @ Spooner Fairgrounds with musical headliners, Fireworks @ The Landing at Dusk, Mid-July is the Spooner Rodeo @ Spooner Fairgrounds, Mid July is the Bluegill Festival in downtown Birchwood Wi, and last weekend in July is the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward.
August Events: 1st weekend is Jack Pine Savage Days in downtown Spooner, 1st weekend is also Band on the Barge at Big Island Sand bar on Long Lake in Sarona (bring your own boat),
