Out of the Woods Winery (Hayward) is a locally owned, family-owned micro winery in Hayward WI. Napa Style tasting room. All wines are made onsite, with California grapes. Round Man Brewing Co, (Spooner) located on Main street, offers over 13 craft brews, and fantastic brewpub and chartreuse foods. The pub has an industrial vibe with a huge 70’ mural on the back wall, great indoor seating, living room areas and sidewalk patio. Perfect place to take a break after shopping the Spooner main street (or waiting for a dawdling shopper). Open Wed-Sun. Family owned.www.roundmanbrewing.com 

Perlick Distillery (Sarona) is a 5-gneration family farm with over 2,000 acres of corn, wheat, barley, soy and sunflowers. They opened the distillery, with the intent to select and use the freshest ingredients for distilling, and the long list of custom cocktail creations speaks to their unique creativity. A local restaurant, the Roost on the Loose, offers sharable appetizers and Sunday morning breakfasts to the taproom. A little longer drive from the cabin and you will find Clover meadow Winery & White Wolf Distillery & Cafe, in Stone Lake WI. The only certified organic winery in the Midwest, and a great organic brandy selection, as well. Often considered the most laid-back and comfortable tasting room, you literally have to travel down a dirt road to get to it. And the proceeds, go to supporting the many rescue horses on premise. www.cmwinery.com 

South Shore Brewery Tap house with the Deep-Water Grill & The Alley (Ashland) This brewery shares a historic brownstone building with not one, but two restaurants. They pair to offer the beer, and you have your choice of where to eat. It is a drive from the cabin, since it is one block from Lake Superior, but if you are taking a day trip to Ashland, this is worth a stop. Open Tues-Sat @ www.southshorebrewery.com

Though not a brewery, this is worth a trip! Three Fly Sisters Taps & Wines is a locally owned Hayward area must-visit. It’s a great place to grab a wine, grab a beer and Charcuterie. But, as a two-woman, small business, you must order your Charcuterie days in advance before your stop in. The perfect combo to enjoy a relaxing Friday evening.
